Annual General Meeting - May 14, 2019

Join us at the Sussex Golf & Curling Club for a wonderful Timberland catered meal with special speaker Jeff White, CPA, CA, CEO of NB Innovation Foundation. Jeff is a senior technology financial executive excited to work with entrepreneurs and researchers. Passionate about family, coaching, minor sports and active living.  Specialties are Growth strategies, mergers and acquisitions, public and private capital offerings.

Annual Golf Tournament

Every year the Sussex & District Chamber of Commerce, holds an annual golf tournament in September to offer local professionals and members of the business community the chance to mingle, make new contacts, and have great time. 2019 event is on September 18.

Hole Sponsorship:

To help make this event an unforgettable experience for everyone, we are looking for support from the local area. We are offering sponsorship of the individual holes at a cost of $350 each. Sponsors will be included in the promotion of the tournament, including Radio Ads, Newspaper Ads as well as chamber publications.

We are also looking for prize sponsorship from businesses. To help promote this activity, all businesses that donate at least $100 equivalent prize value will be entered into a draw for a radio advertising package from Favorites 590 CJCW valued at approximately $600.

Meetings:

“Monthly membership meetings are held on the first Wednesday of every month from 12 Noon to 1:30 PM (with the exception of July & August) to provide educational programs designed to help members expand their business, increase sales and profitability, and manage both efficiently and effectively.

These meetings take the form of round table discussions, mini-workshops or guest speakers. Most of them provide helpful handouts, and all of them provide an opportunity to network, and obtain updates on coming events and information relevant to businesses in Sussex and surrounding areas.”

Lunch & Learn Seminars

The Sussex & District Chamber of Commerce, holds Lunch and Learn sessions on topics of interest to professionals and business owners. Using local speakers, a wide variety of topics are covered.

May Lunch ‘N Learn 

Wednesday, May 1, 2019, 12 Noon to 1:30 PM.

Smitty’s Restaurant, 110 Main Street, Sussex, New Brunswick.

Members $15 Non-members $20 (Includes buffet luncheon, hand-out information, and presentations.)

This luncheon meeting includes a buffet luncheon, the two 20 minute sessions, handouts, networking opportunities, and updates from your Chamber President.

Communications As a Tool for Leaders - To succeed in any business, we must learn to work with and through others.  This session will discuss how to communicate effectively in meetings, in delegating, in giving directions, in performance reviews and in training.

Improving E-Mail Communication - The average working professional spends roughly 23% of the workday on e-mail.  This session discusses how to best manage incoming e-mail and save time and money as well as improve communication.

Bring along your company brochures and or business cards for the Networking Table. The official time of the meeting is 12 noon to 1:30 PM; but if you can arrive a few minutes early and stay a few minutes longer so much the better.

The first 30 minutes will be spent networking and enjoying the luncheon buffet included with your registration. (Be sure to bring business cards and take advantage of our Networking Table to display any company literature.) The balance of the time will be spent absorbing as much useful information as possible from the two presentations.

Christmas Luncheon

Our Christmas Luncheon is usually held in lieu of a general business meeting, giving members the opportunity to mix and mingle with fellow chamber members. No business meeting is held providing an excellent chance to relax for the holidays, and a perfect opportunity for networking.
